I received the B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Computer Science from the University of Leicester, U.K., in 2008, the M.Sc. degree in Natural Computation from the University of Birmingham , U.K., in 2009, and the Ph.D degree in Computer Science from the University of Leicester, U.K. in 2013 (PhD thesis: "Ant colony optimization in static and dynamic environments").
My research interests include evolutionary computation, swarm intelligence, memetic computing, combinatorial optimization problems, heuristics and metaheuristics, artificial neural networks for classification, artificial intelligence in dynamic and uncertain environments, and relevant real-world applications.
In 2022 I was appointed Chair of the IEEE Task Force on Evolutionary Computation in Dynamic and Uncertain Environments (under the Evolutionary Computation Technical Committee of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society). I am a Member of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (since 2013) and an Associate Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (since 2017).
I am listed in the Stanford University World's Top 2% Scientists List published on 4 October 2023 (DOI:10.17632/btchxktzyw.6).My current contact details are as follows: Dr. Michalis Mavrovouniotis
